Review: I read about radiant barrier and it’s benefits on the internet. The claims were very interesting so I decided to do some research locally. I found out that not ownly does the product work, my local electric company was offering a rebate of $.10 per sq. ft. One weekend while perusing the newspaper, I saw an ad for radiant barriar for $.50  sq. ft. I decided to call the company to have them come out and give me an estimate. The esitmate was for the whole attic excluding the space above the garage (about 300 sq. ft). I was able to get them to add the garage space at no additional cost. After discussing the estimate with the wife, I decided to have it done. It was one of the best decisions we’ve made. We noticed a change in attic temperature immediately. I don’t have exact temperature measurement but I can assure you, THIS PRODUCT WORKS!!!

Review: After purchasing “The Weather Channel” thermometer, I got a good idea on how hot my attic was getting during the hot summer days. The temperature was a good 20-25 degrees hotter than the outside temperature. If it wasn’t for air conditioning, it would be like living in an oven. I did some research and found the Solarstar solar attic fan. I found a local dealer here and had them come out and give me an estimate. The estimate was $400 per fan installed with an additional rebate from my local electric company. I had 4 of them installed. Ever since installation, my attic has never gotten more than 10 degrees hotter than the outside temperature. The solar attic fans are a must for those wanting to save money on their electric bill.

Review: From the recommendation of friends, we decided to bite the bullet on installing fluorescent light bulbs. Initially, our biggest concern was being able to dim them. Fortunately, GE makes a dimmable floodlight now which eliminated our concern. We spent about 30 mins going around the home writing down what kind of lights we needed. Then we went Wal-Mart to make the purchase. I had no idea how expensive these lights were but was quickly reminded that the bulbs last from 5-10 years. Anyway, we came home and spent a good hour installing them. What a fun project and definitely worth the savings over the long term!

This an interesting product. This product is used to monitor the electricity usage. I bought this product for for my home and had my electrician install it. The product costs $170 which included shipping and handling. I had to pay an additional $25 for my electrician to install it. However, it’s pretty simple to install for those of you have some electrical experience. (provided by Cent-A-Meter)

This is by far the coolest product I’ve purchased. Installed in less than five minutes with no tools required, the Cool-n-Save™ system affixes to the top of most home air conditioning units. The system is activated only when the AC unit turns on; hot air from the condenser unit’s fan raises the flap on the patented Cool-n-Save™ control valve allowing water to flow to the misters that surround the AC unit. When the ultra-fine mist is released into the air, it evaporates almost instantly creating what is known as a “Flash Evaporation,” which literally sucks heat out of the air as water absorbs the energy it needs to evaporate. Review:  This product was very easy to install. It took only 5 minutes. During the the install, I accidentally pushed the mister tubes in too tight thus causing water flow restriction. I had to back them off just a tiny bit to correct the issue. It was definitely my fault. This product does exactly as advertised and saves about 25% off the a/c portion of your electric bill. It’s definitely worth the money.
