Cool-N-Save

This is by far the coolest product I’ve purchased. Installed in less than five minutes with no tools required, the Cool-n-Save™ system affixes to the top of most home air conditioning units. The system is activated only when the AC unit turns on; hot air from the condenser unit’s fan raises the flap on the patented Cool-n-Save™ control valve allowing water to flow to the misters that surround the AC unit. When the ultra-fine mist is released into the air, it evaporates almost instantly creating what is known as a “Flash Evaporation,” which literally sucks heat out of the air as water absorbs the energy it needs to evaporate. The result of the immediate evaporation constitutes a substantial drop in ambient temperature without wetness—up to 30 degrees Fahrenheit (provided by CoolNSave.com).

Review:  This product was very easy to install. It took only 5 minutes. During the the install, I accidentally pushed the mister tubes in too tight thus causing water flow restriction. I had to back them off just a tiny bit to correct the issue. It was definitely my fault. This product does exactly as advertised and saves about 25% off the a/c portion of your electric bill. It’s definitely worth the money.

I saw this product on the Living with Ed Begley show. I bought it back in July and noticed a 25% drop in my electric bill. This product really works and is reasonably priced too!

I wonder how this would work in a very humid environment. It looks great for AZ, CO, or CA, but with the humidity in the 70′s will it really create that cooling effect?

waste of money….installed it and water was leaking from hose, attachment to ac unit didn’t stick very long since ac was hot and weather was hot. mist didn’t work that well either….

i’ve been using it for 2 years and it has reduce our a/c bill as advertised. If you are having a leak, then you may have installed it improperly? I added an extension kit to get full coverage. Several of my neighbors have it installed and have noticed a difference in there electric bill. We live in Texas.

Anyone who has bought this thing needs to go outside and take a look at your condensor – hopefully before the 90 day warranty is up on the Cool N Save. If your water supply has typical hardness levels you will see scale and rust deposits on the condensor coil which will lead to LOWERED efficiency – and early death of the A/C unit. Talk about penny wise and pound foolish…this $100 device can cost you a few thousand more in a few years…Also check your A/C unit warranty, it might just be invalidated by use of an add-on misting system

I’ve had this product on my AC since last June. I had no problem with leaks as reported by Jason – and you have to clean the metal surface of the AC unit so that the Coolnsave valve unit sticks properly (that’s common sense, actually). My only qualm was the filter – lasted barely two months, but I just found out that they have a new filter that lasts 6 months (big improvement). Bottomline – I did see a 12% reduction in my electricity bill – enough to pay for the unit in the first year. By the way, live in the Los Angeles area – 30-40% humidity and temperatures between 80 and 90 degrees. I recommend it!

One of the dumbest things ever. Mineral deposits will collect on the coil fins and destroy there ability to transfer heat to the air is intended. You will then spend big bucks to replace your A/C. HVAC Tech.
